WHAT ARE DENTAL IMPLANT DENTURES?
We feel that dental implant dentures (sometimes called implant supported or implant retained) are a better treatment option for missing teeth than traditional dentures in nearly every way. Why? Well, because implant retained dentures can fully restore your oral health and the appearance of your smile while simultaneously providing you the functionality of your teeth, in turn giving you a new lease on life. The benefits of implant supported dentures include:
- No slippage
- As durable and stable as natural teeth
- Natural appearance for aesthetically pleasing results
- Customized for your mouth
- Restored oral health and function
- Improved quality of life
We think the answer is clear. If you are missing your teeth, then dental implant dentures are the solution for you. At our Fort Worth dental practice, we excel in the placement of dentures with dental implants, and are able to maintain complete control over our patients’ restorations thanks to our on-site dental laboratory and experienced, skilled technician. You can expect to receive honest, respectful care from our team, and perhaps most importantly, superb results.
PLACING DENTURES – IMMEDIATE LOADING AND UNRIVALED SUPPORT
With dental implants
, we can place dentures and restore them in a single appointment. We recommend small diameter
dental implants for your implant supported denture, since they require less invasive surgery, require less underlying bone tissue, and allow you to heal faster. These advantages make these particular dental implants an ideal alternative to traditional implants and dentures. These benefits, and more, are why we offer small diameter dental implants at our practice. In fact. Dr. Steve Brown not only places more small diameter implants than anyone in Fort Worth, he places more than any other dentist in the State of Texas. He also places mini dental implants, an even smaller version. You can be assured that he will be honest and straight-forward with you during your consultation, and provide treatment of the highest quality.
To actually place the dental implants, small pilot holes will be made in the gums and jaw bone where the implants are to be placed. The implants will then be secured into the bone tissue. When anchoring dentures into place, the amount of dental implants required will vary based on the size of the denture and condition of the patient’s jaw bone. In many cases, full dentures can be anchored in place with anywhere from four to eight small-diameter dental implants. Once the implants are in place, a prototype of the permanent dentures will be affixed atop these implants, allowing the patient to leave the office with a full set of teeth that they can “test drive” prior to receiving their permanent restorations (which are designed and customized in our on-site dental laboratory
RETAINING YOUR EXISTING DENTURE WITH DENTAL IMPLANTS
In some cases, it’s possible to anchor your current traditional denture to dental implants. When possible, Dr. Brown can load your existing denture to your implants the day of your surgery, where it can act as your temporary set of teeth until we can build you your new denture in our lab. ARE YOU A CANDIDATE FOR DENTURES?
If you are missing most or all of your teeth, then yes, you are a candidate for dentures. At the The Dental Implant Place in Fort Worth, we offer implant supported dentures almost exclusively, including partial dentures or bridges, and bar-supported implants. The type of denture or supporting structure that is right for you will depend on a variety of factors. During your initial consultation with Dr. Steve Brown, you will discuss your goals and needs. Then Dr. Brown will evaluate your oral health, and a treatment recommendation will be made. This step of the process is extremely important, as it provides the foundation for the rest of your treatment. We provide customized treatments for our patients (our oral appliances are as customizable as dentures can be) because we are dedicated to providing natural-looking, aesthetically pleasing results. Quite simply, standard $300 dentures that are held in place with nothing but dental cement can look and feel like Halloween novelty teeth. We are not willing to give our patients such poor, ill-fitting, ineffective, and uncomfortable dentures.
